Isolmant for a 1980s house in Milan

A villa in the province of Milan, built in the 1980s, underwent a complete interior renovation with a clear objective: no demolition work, reduced construction time, and improved acoustic comfort.

After a technical inspection by the Isolmant team, a “lay-over” solution was chosen for the new flooring installation — working directly on the existing porcelain tile floor, without the need for demolition.
The selected product was Isolmant LVT Plus, a high-compression-resistant underlay that allows LVT and SPC floors to be installed over existing surfaces, even when they are not perfectly level.

Thanks to the use of Isolmant LVT Plus, the new 5 mm LVT flooring was installed in less than 72 hours — a quick and clean intervention with a total system thickness of only 6.8 mm.

The renovation achieved an acoustic improvement of 10 dB (starting from an already well-performing slab at 70 dB), bringing the structure into compliance, that is below the 63 dB performance, by italian standards.
