Generally, all pipes cause annoying noises that are transmitted both by air and by structure. These noises reduce the acoustic comfort inside the rooms, especially during night time. As defined by the Prime Ministerial Decree 5/12/97, there are two types of noisy systems depending on the type of operation of the system itself.
In particular, we talk about discontinuous systems (whose operation is random and variable according to the needs of users) and continuous systems (whose operation is fixed).
Proper acoustic design of the systems must provide for the passage of the pipes and drain columns in suitable insulated cables made of masonry.
In order to prevent the passage of noise from the pipes into the flats, the pipes need to be lined with soundproofing and solid material.
